For everyone having a black or blue window instead of correct video playback with a dual screen clone configuration: Its the fuckin xv overlay! I've been searching for the issue in forums but didn't find any answer, so I post it here, it may save someone from wasteing time : Set the xv overlay manually with xvattr. In my case (Thinkpad T40, Debian Etch) 'xvattr -a XV_CRTC -v 1
